Canon and Nikon Pro dealer, Mifsuds Photographic (based in the UK), have several online specials on Gitzo tripods, available via their eBay store. The lightweight, the four-section GT2541 EX (Explorer), for instance is just £379 (was £399) inc VAT. Although now officially discontinued*, the four-section Systematic GT3541LS is available at £519 (that's a saving of around £50). Better savings still can be had from the top-of-the range GM5561T six section monopod, normally around £299, it's available for just £229 inc VAT. It's not particularly tall, but it's very compact and can hold a 800mm f/5.6. Delivery is quoted at just £10.00 for each of these items, which is low even for the monopod.
